What Is… An eXposition

Weekly eXchange Background 1 (1)

From the earliest days of eXplorminate back in 2014, the Weekly eXchange has changed and grown. It first started out as a YouTube show where Ben (Warmacblu) and I, talked over video footage. It was a great idea, but it was too much work for what ended up being a weekly show.

So, we switched to a podcast and did that for a few more months before Ben relinquished his hosting duties to Rob (Devildog aka the 4Xplorer). Rob and I had a lot of fun talking about the genre and games we love most, you know, 4X. Yet, towards the end of Rob’s tenure on the Weekly eXchange, we started to cover other strategy games that weren’t 4X and the length of the show grew.

Then in 2016 Troy picked up for Rob, and became my co-host for the show. Again, we adapted. I’m sure you know all of this already, but If you didn’t… You do now. Okay, what am I trying to say?

Well, the Weekly eXchange has continued to change and grow as eXplorminate matures. This past year, Troy and I have had a few guests on and a new segment was added in the Summer: the “What Is…” segment where I introduce a new game each show that might be a 4X or strategy game that you, dear listener, might have never heard of. Many times these games are from smaller studios that need just a little bit of a push to break out.

In case you missed some of these games, here’s a complete list of all of the ones we’ve covered in 2018:

So, with all of that said, come and listen to the Weekly eXchange, and you might find a new game to check out in the upcoming year. We’ll keep doing our best to report on our favorite genres. If we happen to miss something, let us know. It’s never too late to improve, and we’re always open to feedback.

Have a great 2019 gaming year, because we certainly plan to.
