  2. Good rant Nate. Don’t let the bastards get you down there are always no shortage of useless aholes out there ready to bitch at others while they sit on their ass. Keep up the good work for you and the Whole Explorminate team.

  3. Enjoyable show as always, thanks guys!

I would guess that the eXplorminate bunch have developed a pretty think skin over the years, operating on the internet as they do, but every once in a while it seems the careless barbs of the brainless and thoughtless get through. Chin up lads! You do good work and it is enjoyed by many.

    1. Yes, we do have thick skins now. But that doesn’t mean we don’t welcome constructive criticism. We’ve messed up in the past, and our great community has told us. So we want to encourage that. But the vindictive stuff, we just ignore.

      Love you guys! :)

  4. The implications in that r/4x gaming post are ludicrous. You guys are the hub around which all of the information about the genre rotates.

In the same thread one guy accused you of hating 4x and being too harsh with reviews and another says you are too easy in your reviews, so that means you’re doing your job.

The guy is right about the genre being in trouble long term, but it’s not because of trepidation about bad reviews. Look at that poll you guys did a few months back that revealed that virtually everyone on here is in their 30s and 40s. There’s basically no interest from kids, which is unsustainable.

    1. Exactly and to lay it at our feet is misguided at best. We do our best, and this past year was insane but I have a plan moving forward. I just need to survive to the new year and get my work done.

I’ll talk a little more about it in the upcoming shows.

      Thanks for listening as always.

  5. Seriously your work is easily the best around right now. I’m guessing they’re frustrated that 4X isn’t exactly making a strong comeback and took it out on you and the site. The thread seems to be have been nuked too.

  6. As several others have said, those Reddit comments were absurd. I personally find an in-depth review by someone who’s put in the hours to learn a game much more useful than one that just skims the surface in a bid to be “timely.” There are lots of places to get those kinds of reviews. But what you guys do is extremely rare – and valuable.
