  1. I’m tired of the fact that new games are being released exclusively on Steam (combined with the fact that you can’t play a Steam game outside of the Steam environment). Even games that still have a parallel “standalone” distribution build in Steam “hooks” and modules, which causes all sorts of problems. Someone killing the Steam (by buying it or otherwise) could be a good thing after all.

    • Have you ever used the Microsoft version of their app store? It is hot garbage on a blistering day. Everything about their stores, ever, were awful.

Have you tried buying games on GoG instead of steam?

      • I prefer to run standalone games. I prefer my games not to report on me and to contain nothing more than requires for a gameplay. Steam makes it harder every year by sucking in all the games distribution. Microsoft would most likely make the Steam unusable, so the devs/publishers would have to start distributing – good for me. Pretty sure there are others feeling like this. Obviously you aren’t one of them.
I’ve heard that the GoG requires embedding even more “hooks” into (modern) games it distributes. Luckily (for me) GoG can’t be a direct replacement of Steam, because they are quite picky. With GoG devs/publishers would have to distribute independently first (I hope).

    • Not sure if this is particularly helpful but you can buy and play Dominions through Steam but you are not limited to playing it in the Steam environment. Personally I love this feature (another reason Dominions is a great game) though I am not sure its intentional.

  2. Amplitude still haven’t fixed the issue in ES2 with pirates ignoring ship defenses though. Mind you it’s a very small thing, but they have so far ignored all reports of it.

  3. does anybody know what timeframe Galaxial is aiming for with release?
all info about plans dates back to 2014/2015 and i guess they are obsolete now.
even info about a possible early-access date back to 2015.
    game realy looks interesting.

a summary video for predestination would realy be cool. would like to know what state it is now and i’m too lazy (or busy) to check all by myselfe :)

thanks for a great show again.

  4. Hi guys! I would just like to say that was another great show/podcast and more power to the 4X strategy community!

BTW I’ve been playing 2 interesting android titles and maybe you guys would also want to check them out. The first one is an older strategy game called ‘Age of Civilizations’ (a sequel for android and PC is also in the works) by Łukasz Jakowski and a newly released 4X game called ‘Uciana’ by Birdshel. I sunk a lot of time with these two during my free hours and I just want to share the fun.

    Cheers!

      • Uciana looks rather good. Tried it yesterday for a short while and though I refunded it (will not have time to play it) it feels like a proper 4X (light and not overly involved, but still…). For 1 buck I think some people will try it out and not be dissatisfied.
