  1. I’m kind of with Nate on the zombie topic. I know they’re ubiquitous in gaming but they’re not really ubiquitous in MY gaming. They’re no worse than any other gaming trope I can think of.

  2. Concerning the glut of space 4Xs and “make something else, guys:”

    — I started Remnants in Feb 2015 from scratch. At the time, the following Space 4X games were in development: M.O.R.E. (stalled), Stars in Shadow, Polaris Sector, Dominus Galaxia (just started), Lord of Rigel (just started). Two of those games have since been released.

Since then, the following games have been both announced and released: Master of Orion, Stellaris, Endless Space 2, Gal Civ: Crusade, Dawn of Andromeda, Children of the Galaxy, Stellar Monarch.

The glut exists only in a tiny segment of the gamer market, one that this site all of those games live in, and so it doesn’t really affect me at all.
