  1. I watched most of the silent, hour-long CoG gameplay demo that the author put up on YouTube, and aside from having no audio or even subtitles explaining what was going on I found it extremely dry and it looked like MM hell.

On the other hand, thanks to the coverage here, my finger has twitched dangerously over the ‘buy’ button for the Dawn of Andromeda EA even though I don’t generally get involved in EA titles. It’s looking more and more interesting with each update.

I’ve given up on Sorceror King. None of the bug posts are answered or acknowledged and the new patch notes are so vague as to be useless. Clearly the title is getting very little dev time, which given how well it didn’t sell isn’t really a huge surprise, but it is a little disappointing because I’ve come to expect better from Stardock. Sorceror King’s loss looks to be GalCiv3’s gain though, I’m salivating over the dev diaries – as you note they really look to be shaking up the gameplay.

And thanks as always for the podcast! Hope you’re feeling better soon Nate, seems half of everyone I know has a cold right now. :P

  2. Derek Paxton making his own Fantasy 4X from scratch would make sense and totally would be what I’d use him for if I employed him.
