  1. Insofar “game-breaking bugs” in Stellaris, there arguably aren’t any, like you said. However, I find that by the endgame, the game gets so laggy that it’s no longer fun playing it. The game itself is still responsive, but the simulation will stop for seconds at a time, frequently. That’s on 600 stars, so it can be mitigated by playing on smaller maps.

  2. Great podcast guys. I appreciate hearing about all the different games, including the ones that I haven’t tried yet. You do a good job in covering the latest 4X news and highlighting what’s coming up. I also enjoying hearing about Stellaris and the fixes in store there. Its gameplay really hasn’t hooked me yet though, as I am a self-admitted GC3 addict that can’t find much time for other 4X games atm, but maybe one day…

Speaking of GC3, just a quick note about the 1.71 patch that was introduced on May 17: there were a lot of minor improvements, tweaks, fixes, but the main “feature” of the patch was that it addressed the long-running issue regarding constructor spamming for starbases. Essentially, you no longer need to spend 3/4 of each turn queueing constructors / managing your SB upgrades. Yay. So if that was one of your main complaints about the game, I urge folks to download the patch and give it another try.

For the free 1.72 patch in late June, they’re introducing asteroid mining and ship leveling. Can’t wait.

Look forward to hearing more about ES2 when you’re given the green light to talk about it.

  3. Another great show but I don’t see that you have this one in your twitter feed. ANY DLC. Free or paid for Thea is an instant buy for me.
