  1. Just fyi, the concept of “5X” does not originate with Imperia. The first time I heard it, it was being used by Alan Emrich to describe MOO3. The 5th X was “eXperience” or something like that.


  2. Everyone always says that graphics “look like mobile” if a game has clearly discrete objects on a brightly colored map. I don’t know whether I disagree, or whether I just think that this is a good graphics style.

    I found the graphics reminiscent of Sid Meier’s Railroads (a vastly underrated game), which existed before mobile was even a thing.


    • Style. Not all games need to have the same powerful or realistic look. This is why I hate graphical prowess. No body cares for a game to have it’s own look they need to all have the same power to them.
