Slitherine Announces Last Days of Old Earth

LDOE Title

From Slitherine’s Announcement

For centuries, scientists had built up worst-case scenarios about climate change. None of them came close to the reality. With the Sun drained of energy and the Earth ruined by human activities, our home became an icy and hostile world. Mankind still has faith in the future though, and people fight to survive one day at a time. However, with scarcity comes rivalry, and only the law of the wild applies between the remaining factions, during the Last Days of Old Earth.

Inspired by cult classic PC game Armageddon Empires, Last Days of Old Earth is a strategy game that invites players to lead the destiny of the human Skywatchers or the robotic Automata. In a world where natural resources are almost depleted, they will have to explore randomly-generated maps to find, exploit, and protect new energy and material sources. Diplomacy is no longer an option in such a desperate context, so recruiting your own heroes and military units will be vital. By mixing 4X with deck-building mechanics, Last Days of Old Earth is both dynamic and cerebral!

Launching on Steam Early Access in February 2016, the game will be fully playable at this date. In fact both the single player skirmish mode and the online multiplayer system will be ready and functional from Day One! Along with major new updates and features that will be introduced through Early Access, developer Auroch Digital and The Wintermute Company are eager to hear from the LDOOE community in order to further refine the game mechanics and balance.

  1. I’m getting more of a Massive Chalice than an Endless Legend vibe off of this, artistically at least.

I’ll be keeping an eye on it. Looks intriguing.
